Elvis
At the mention of his name,
Someone said to me..oh you are one of those..
meaning a Elvis fan.and that to love Elvis
is some kind of a fanatical nuts thing you need to be embarrassed of.
To me Elvis was not only awesomely talented and handsome,
but he was also a inspiration of how someone can go from poverty
to success,
and he was a man of compassion and heart.
I will always be a die hard Elvis fan.
I saw him when I was about 5 in his gold satin suit,
and I fell in love,
he seemed magical,
as I grew up I saw him as a man that deeply loved
his mother.and one lifetime deep love for a woman.
and his love for his daughter,
and his very spiritual love for God.
I saw him as a man who's heart could be broken.
as human as we all are.
He had imperfections.
but the imperfections could never cast a shadow
over him that would change
the world's love for him.
I don't see him as still alive in the physical sense.
I see him as living through his beautiful music.
and his inspiration.
I love Todd Martin bringing his spirit alive
with his Elvis songs,
and the way he connects with his fans,
always having time for them.
Going to see Todd Martin
with my 82 year old mother
who loves Todd dearly has become very special moments for us.
He makes my mother feel like a teenager.
Todd has the same energetic personality
as Elvis did.
This summer My college daughter and I went to Memphis,
we aren't together often and we had a lot of fun.
she left Memphis a Elvis fan,
having held the same mic as Elvis ,Johnny Cash
and all of the old stars,
was a awesome moment for her.
she also thought she broke the mic which was funny.
she didn't ,,thank God! haha
I have shared Elvis moments
with loved ones
that are very special and fun memories.
Memories of my son when he was about 2
looking like Elvis did at 2, and singing his songs,
when he was a child with a cool cute
little Elvis impersonation,
and like father ,like son,
my grandson Dustin also loved to dance and sing
to Elvis songs when he was small.
The kids going through Elvis songs to put a Elvis ring tone,
on my cell phones for me
I believe I gave my family a love for Elvis.
and althrough my grandson Jeremy is a very talented musicain
who has different tastes,
he respects the talents of others.
Jeremy 's personality reminds me of Elvis.
Because Elvis has a rebel streak
But Jeremy and Elvis alike at the end of the day,
a family man.
a a loving father of a daughter.
with a rebel streak ,and style expressed through music.
Elvis always took a moment for God
.
Elvis was Humble,
never feeling he deserved
fame or fortune,
and felt only Jesus was worthy of being
called King.
He refused the title king.
Elvis knew his human weakness.
Elvis took time for God
Elvis was never ashamed of God,
or his own spirituality and convictions
Elvis gave open praise
and inspiration for others to
praise God
Elvis gave time to God.
and looked for quiet places to pray.
and looked for spiritual guidance.
Elvis believed all he was,
and all that he accomplished,
were gifts from God,
and gave God the glory
and the gratitude.
Elvis would at times
quietly worship while
others sing spiritual songs.
Elvis gave God time,
and the spotlight
wherever he was.
Elvis was one of God's shining stars
